And just like that, we are back from Spring Break! At Sni-A-Bar Elementary, students were hard at work practicing learning about different weather, like rain.
April 7, 2026 School Bond Issue
The School Board has placed a $40 million school bond issue on the ballot for the April 7, 2026. There are four priorities, including a middle school outdoor athletic facility. Other priorities include:
Substantial addition and renovation at Matthews Elementary
Addition and renovation at Sni-A-Bar Elementary
Safety improvements to school entrances as needed
If this bond issue is approved, the adjusted debt service levy of the School District is estimated to remain unchanged at $1.300 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation of real and personal property, a rate which was lowered from $1.700 in 2024. Easter Break
There will be no school Friday, April 3rd and Monday, April 6th due to Easter Break. There will be no school for students on Tuesday, April 7th due to a teacher learning day View the district calendar.

Grain Valley Elementary Track & Field Championships
Calling Matthews, Prairie Branch, Stony Point, and Sni-A-Bar Elementary Track Stars. Grain Valley High School Track and Field is hosting an Elementary Track & Field Championship on Saturday, April 4th, 2026. The meet will feature running, relays, and field event competitions, and is open to all elementary students. Students outside of Grain Valley are welcome to compete in the open events. Registration is $20.00 and includes a t-shirt, medal, and participation in the event. Race Day Schedule
