And just like that, we are back from Spring Break! At Sni-A-Bar Elementary, students were hard at work practicing learning about different weather, like rain.
April 7, 2026 School Bond Issue 
Vote April 7, 2026.
The School Board has placed a $40 million school bond issue on the ballot for the April 7, 2026. There are four priorities, including a middle school outdoor athletic facility. Other priorities include: 
  • Substantial addition and renovation at Matthews Elementary
  • Addition and renovation at Sni-A-Bar Elementary
  • Safety improvements to school entrances as needed 
If this bond issue is approved, the adjusted debt service levy of the School District is estimated to remain unchanged at $1.300 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation of real and personal property, a rate which was lowered from $1.700 in 2024. Easter Break

There will be no school Friday, April 3rd and Monday, April 6th due to Easter Break. There will be no school for students on Tuesday, April 7th due to a teacher learning day View the district calendar.

After all finalists were interviewed by an outside panel of educational and local business professionals, we are pleased to announce our winners. Congratulations to Stacy Stiffler, 5th-grade teacher at Sni-A-Bar Elementary, and Mandi Brown, paraprofessional at Grain Valley Early Childhood Center! 



Grain Valley Elementary Track & Field Championships 
Graphic for the Grain Valley Track and Field K-5th Championships. The event takes place on Saturday, April 4th, 2026, from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM at GV High School. The text is displayed in
Calling Matthews, Prairie Branch, Stony Point, and Sni-A-Bar Elementary Track Stars. Grain Valley High School Track and Field is hosting an Elementary Track & Field Championship on Saturday, April 4th, 2026. The meet will feature running, relays, and field event competitions, and is open to all elementary students. Students outside of Grain Valley are welcome to compete in the open events. Registration is $20.00 and includes a t-shirt, medal, and participation in the event. 
Race Day Schedule 
3:30 pm - 3:55 pm  Check In  Participants get race day gear. Check in with team, play games/ warm up, etc. 
4:00 pm - 4:15 pm  Warm-up  Alumni Coaches lead team warm up drills 
4:20 pm  Track & Field Championships  Track events begin. Rolling schedule 
6:15 pm  Awards  Participants receive medals. Team champions announced. 
Order of Events: 
Race Format is a rolling schedule. Girls followed by boys. K-2nd followed by 3-5th field events cafeteria style, rotate by school.
  • Open 50m Dash: K-2 only 
  • Open 100m Dash: 3-5 only 
  • *Elite Heat: Fastest in GV 100m Dash (PE teacher nominations: 2 boys, 2 girls from each school)
  • Open 400m Dash 
  • Pause Track Events for Field Event Rotations (Jav, Shot, LJ) 
  • Wicket Hurdles 
  • Open 4x100 Relay 
  • Open 800m 
  • *Elite Heat: Fastest in GV 800m (PE teacher nominations: 2 boys, 2 girls from each school) 
  • *Elite Heat: 1-1-2-4 Medley Relay (PE teacher nominations, 2 Heats Girls & Boys, K-1st (100M), 2-3rd (100m), 4th (200m), 5th (400m)). 
*Nominated by PE Teacher 

High School Alumni Coaching Captains will organize relay order. Email Nick Small or Eric Stone with questions.
